Michelle C. Liang, M.D. is a board certified member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retinal Specialists.
She obtained her B.A. in Biology at the John Hopkins University and her M.D. at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed her transitional year in medicine and surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital followed by her residency in ophthalmology at the New England Eye Center/Tufts Medical Center. She then completed a surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at the New England Eye Center/Tufts Medical Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. She is currently an assistant professor in Ophthalmology at the Tufts University School of Medicine.
Dr. Liang treats all conditions of the retina and vitreous, including macular degeneration, macular diseases, vitreomacular disorders, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disorders, retinal detachment, ocular trauma, and cataract complications. She has been a sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials and her research interests include retinal imaging, new therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and other diseases.
